Cheshale Malindi, Kenya

Che Shale is one of Kenya’s most well-known boutique beach hotel situated on a point between two deserted bays, sheltered by a fringing coral reef and secluded in thousands of coconut trees and lush indigenous vegetation. We have been on the map for 30 years and our guests come back every year for a genuine barefoot luxury relaxation.

Awaiting you: miles of wide empty beaches, stylish accommodations, fresh delicious cuisine, evening bonfires on the beach, and a myriad of activities from deep sea fishing to Kitesurfing just to name a few.

Che Shale is located on the Kenyan coast, we are the only hotel located on our beautiful 5 km bay. We are
a two-hour drive from Mombasa and a twenty-minute drive from Malindi town. You will need a four-wheel
drive vehicle for the last three kilometers of sand tracks that lead to Che Shale. If you do not have a fourwheel drive, Che Shale will send a Land Rover to pick you up at the end of the tarmac road.

We can also arrange for your transport from Mombasa Airport or from Malindi airport.
Daily Flights run from Nairobi to Malindi with Kenya Airways and Fly540.

What makes Che Shale so unique is its style. Che Shale was recently renovated and styled by acclaimed
Milan furniture and interior designer Marzia Chicherretti using local materials and local talent.
Under large palm thatched roofs, oversized cushions and comfortable daybeds invite to relaxation. In your
room you will find unique furniture carved out of blocks of mango and cedar wood, soft natural colors,
large lamps made out of palm fiber, private verandas with daybeds, open sky outdoor showers and a
gentle ocean breeze that flows throughout.

Che Shale consists of 5 bandas. Each banda is named after a fish in Swahili.
